The mission of the Next Level Academy is to instill core values of work ethic, teamwork, positive attitude, valuing education, discipline, and community to our teams, clients and members. We will do this through softball instruction and strength and conditioning. We are excited to serve El Dorado County and surrounding communities.


Sheena A. Jackson


Hitting, Slapping, Catching, Fielding, Throwing, Mindset

Career Achievements: Sheena Jackson is a Co-Founder of the Next Level Academy and she comes from a softball/baseball family. Her dad Bob played baseball and was a standout catcher at Sac High and at Washington State, playing in the 1976 College World Series. Her cousin Shannon was a stand out Softballer at C.K. Mcclatchy High School in Sacramento and was an All-American 2nd baseman at Sacramento City College. She also played in a college world series while at Sacramento State.

Professional Playing Experience: California Sunbirds, played one year for coach Tim Kiernan.

College Playing Experience: A versatile player with the ability to play almost any position. Sheena was known as a left-handed batter that drove defenses crazy because she could hit for power or execute the short game by slapping and drag bunting for base hits.  Coach Sheena earned a full ride scholarship to the University of Wisconsin, where she was a 3-year starter. While in college her Wisconsin teams were ranked in the top ten nationally and earned births to NCAA Regionals in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Sheena was also recruited by Oregon, Baylor, Texas A&M, Fresno State, University of Utah, and Oklahoma State. 

High School Playing Experience: At El Dorado High School, Sheena proved to be a stand out, catching for the Cougs, and earning 1st Team All-Sierra Valley Conference during all four years of high school. She was recognized by the Sacramento Bee with 1st Team, All-Metro Honors, 3-consecutive years. Also while in high school, Coach Sheena was the team MVP and captain of the Cougs for three years. Her senior year she was voted as a high school All-American.  She was also a two sport athlete, playing both basketball and softball. She played in a number of travel ball organizations but She credits the Running Rebels out of Stockton and coach Bob Regpala for helping her get seen by the big schools. Her family made the trip from Pollock Pines to Stockton 3 times a week all while maintaining a 4.0 gpa at El Dorado High School. Sheena played at ASA Nationals 5 different times with the Rebels and prior organizations. 

Coaching Experience: Sheena has coached in the Folsom Fastpitch Organization for 3 years at different levels and joined the Foothill Gold Coaching Staff during the winter of 2018.

She will be conducting lessons for hitting, fielding, slapping and catching.

Bio: Coach Christine, Co-founder of Next Level Academy brings a tremendous amount of experience to the table as a player and as a coach.

College Playing Experience: As a player she was known to have a diverse skill set, but she dominated the game as a pitcher. Coach Christine or CP played her college ball at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville Alabama from 2003-2007. She was a two-time All Conference selection and was credited with throwing two, back-to-back no hitters. This was the first time in school history. CP also threw the first perfect game in school history against Tennessee State University. She was an All-Conference  pitcher during the 2005 and 2006 seasons and is credited with being the hardest throwing pitcher in the history of her school. Coach was also a two sport athlete in college having played softball and basketball and was a team captain.

High School Playing Experience: Christine was a graduate of Union Mine High School, class of 2002 where she played basketball and softball, earning All-Sierra Valley Conference in softball for the 2000, 2001, and 2002 seasons, and was selected to play on the Optimist team in 2002. She was a 3-time, team MVP; a 3-time team captain and she also the first female athlete to get recruited to a 4-year university from her school. CP’s travel ball experience comes from playing with the Sacramento Dynasty, Roseville Heat and the Sacramento Rush.Christine’s younger brother Charles “Chuck” Pierce was an All-Metro Tight End and power hitter at Union Mine and Sacramento City College.

Coaching Experience: CP has a strong passion for playing, coaching and teaching the game. She’s given pitching,lessons, for more than 10 year in the Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer counties.  She has also coached travel ball with the Roseville Heat Organization and was a head coach at Placer High School in Auburn, CA.  She was an assistant at her alma mater Union Mine and is currently on the staff at Folsom Lake College as a pitching coach.

Coach Christine has worked with a number of players through the years and currently attending has players attending: CSU Monterey Bay, UC Riverside, North Dakota State, University of Connecticut, San Jose State, Sac City, Sonoma State, Chico State, Portland Community College, Occidental College, Stanislaus State, University Of West Alabama



Professional: Gabriel Jackson is part owner and Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Mini’s House of Pain; a gym in El Dorado Hills, CA that serves adult fitness and athlete development populations. He’s also an Educator at Mills Middle School in Rancho Cordova, CA, a recent move after stepping away from being Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Physical Education Teacher at Oak Ridge High School.  

Coach Jackson has been a part of the House of Pain for more than 15 years and has been certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association for more than a decade. He has a passion for “developing young people” and believes that there are many life lessons to be learned through athletics and strength & conditioning. Coach encourages student athletes to allow athletics to be the vehicle that leads them to college and has helped dozens of students through the process. Will you be next? 

Gabe helped co-found Next Level Academy, a facility that serves as a hub for developing  local Softball talent. 

Coach Jackson was a student athlete in college having bounced around from Division I to Junior College and to Division II football. His college career includes playing football for two years at Utah State, one year at Yuba College, and two years at Humboldt State. Gabe’s own athletic path is one of the many reasons that he relates so well to not only the student athletes, but also to parents wanting to help their kids compete successfully in high school and college sports. 

Education: Gabe holds a Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University, a master’s degree in education from National University and two teaching credentials: single subject PE and education specialist along with the following certifications: Certified Strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. USATF level 1, USAW level 1, FMS level 2, SFG II, Precision Nutrition Certified, Member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Advisory board member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA, Northern California). 

Personal: Besides his passion for coaching, training, and teaching, Gabe is equally as committed to his beautiful family that includes his wife Sheena of 11 years and children Brooklyn (8) and Clayton (6).
